This happened at Forum's meeting on January 28th, when the Mint's audio-visual system decided to play up and would not display the images of Antarctica that were essential to Gill Riley's talk on the subject, with the result that her talk could not take place.
While work was ongoing to verify that the system would not come back on stream, the Chairman and Talks Organiser were searching for a Plan B, and it was as Plan B that Keith came up trumps. He spoke on the subject of a wartime relic he had discovered while out walking locally some years ago, and which he had since managed to do some research about. What's more he spoke entertainingly, and almost without pause or hesitation, captivating the audiance's attention on a topic that proved be of considerable fascination. All in all it was a brilliant performance.
