The route led us past the village's duck pond, an interesting water area which is fed by warm springs and apparently never freezes. After leaving the village the walkers rejoined the canal towpath and, after passing part of Tiverton Golf Club, they returned to the car park and the white bridge which had been used at the start of the walk.
The rain tailed off as the walk progressed so that people did not get as wet as feared, especially as they were dressed for rain. After a short drive, lunch was taken at the Glode Inn at Sampford Peverell.
